How Patty Pursued the AliMonster...

Really, I feel like this story is best told to those who need to know it, but here I go anyway.

Ali first walked into my life when I worked as a bicycle delivery guy in a bagel shop in Columbia, South Carolina and I just fell in love - I actually got to experience the "love at first sight" thing. So, I did what any self-respecting dude working in a minimum wage job would do, I called "dibs" on Ali. Loudly. Yeah... this story would be best told on video so you could see us laugh about it now; but that's what I did - sorry everyone. I was just infatuated. I couldn't stop thinking about her, whoever she was. And my friends at the time? They didn't bother to let me know that she was one their friend's girlfriend.

So, a whole bunch of stuff happens between that day and three years later (which just happens to also be about three years ago, confusing, eh?) when we finally started dating (it'll be more than four years that we were together when we get married proper, just to keep this in perspective), but I'm just never going to write all of that stuff down. Ever. Sorry.
All of that stuff is like a collection of photographs you no longer own - no one can see 'em if you don't let them.

Three years of school, art, bikes, beer and whiskey, flowers and gardens, cats and dogs, jobs, a million different colors/shades/hues of interior house paint, and one leather couch that looks like it has been in the middle of a mosh pit since 1985 -- and here we are. In Austin, Texas pursuing degrees and a life together.

Yeah, I am lucky. Who gets everything they want in life? You're welcome to rub my bald head for good luck at the wedding...
